New details about the disappearance of tourists in Nepal have emerged.
The rescue mission was completed after the bodies were removed from the site of the climbers' deaths.
RIA Novosti learned about this from representatives of the Leningrad Region Mountaineering Federation.
According to the agency's sources, the Heli Everest company carried out a unique rescue operation.
Experts were able to find five bodies of those killed on Dhaulagiri and lower them from an altitude of 7,000 meters to the base camp, which is located at an altitude of 4,650 meters.
It is noted that the high-altitude stage of the mission has been completed in full and now the specialists have one task: to deliver the bodies to Kathmandu.
It is noted that, despite the complexity of the evacuation operation, no one was hurt as a result of it.
Let us recall that the disappearance of the Russian tourists became known on October 6. On October 8, all five of them who had set out to storm the high-altitude camp were declared dead.
Previously, the bodies of climbers could not be evacuated from the site of their death because of weather conditions.
