The situation with F-35 fighters in the US has become known.
Bad weather in Texas, where the warplanes are stored, could cause hundreds of millions of dollars in damage to the aircraft.
This was reported by Bloomberg, citing the Pentagon's Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
It is noted that the problem is related to the delay in installing the latest software on F-35 fighters. It was planned that it would be installed in the near future.
However, in reality, the software will not appear on fighters until next year.
And that creates a problem with storing fighter jets at an airfield in Texas.
Experts do not rule out that the fighters will be damaged by bad weather due to standing on the airfield for too long.
The cost of repairing the damage is significantly higher than the $718 million originally budgeted for. According to preliminary analyses, it could be twice that amount.
