Barcelona have rejected a generous offer from French club PSG for the 16-year-old forward, who has been the revelation of Euro 2024.

The Parisian club was ready to pay a record sum for the young talent, but the Catalans refused.

PSG wanted to buy Lamine Yamal for 250 million euros, which would be a record for a football transfer.

As a source for the EFE agency points out, the buyout clause stipulated in Yamal’s contract with the Catalans is 1 billion euros.

PSG are known for spending big on talented players. In 2017, the Parisians bought Neymar for €222 million, which is still the most expensive deal in football history.

Barcelona accepted the French offer back then, but now the club has decided to focus on developing a new football star. Perhaps Yamal will become the new Lionel Messi for the Blaugrana.

Yamal is 16 years old, but he is already actively playing for Barcelona (51 matches last season) and at Euro 2024 as part of the Spanish national team. He became the youngest goal scorer at the European Championship.

Earlier, Andrei Arshavin called Cristiano Ronaldo a girl because of his tears after a missed penalty.
