The Abkhaz opposition responded to the statement of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili about solidarity.
Opposition leader Adgur Ardzinba said they do not need the Georgian president's support.
He stressed that their actions are aimed only at protecting the interests of the people of Abkhazia. Details are given in the RIA Novosti article.
Ardzinba also noted that they do not know whose interests Zurabishvili represents.
He recalled that Abkhazia is an independent country capable of making its own decisions about how to develop.
Ardzinba said that the people of Abkhazia stand united in their support of the Constitution, which affirms the right to self-determination.
The Abkhaz opposition has entered into conflict with the authorities over an agreement with Russia on the construction of apartments on the territory of the country.
Protesters believe that Russian investment will lead to rising housing prices and damage to small and medium-sized businesses.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili expressed solidarity with the Abkhaz protesters. In response, the opposition said it did not need Zurabishvili's support.
