A rare copy of the US Constitution was auctioned off on Thursday for $9 million.
The final price, including the anonymous buyer's commission, was $11,070,000.
According to the owner of the auction house Brunk Auctions, it took only seven minutes to set the final price, CBS News reports.
About ten bets, at intervals of $500,000, were made over the phone.
Brank confirmed that the final price, including buyer's commission, was $11,070,000.
He said the nearly 237-year-old document was discovered in an inconspicuous filing cabinet on a farm in North Carolina.
In 2022, the property was cleared for transfer to the state. At that time, a rare copy of the constitution was discovered in a filing cabinet.
Congress decided to send it to the states for ratification.
Only a few copies of this constitution survived to this day, including the one that was sold at auction.
