Today, Orthodox believers honor the memory of Saint David of Thessaloniki.

David of Thessalonica lived in the 5th century after the birth of Christ. As the sacred books say, his youth and maturity were spent in a monastery.
One day, David, seeking solitude, left the monastery and went on a journey. He built a hut near Thessaloniki, where he subsequently lived for seventy years.
As a reward for such commitment to Christianity and selflessness, the Lord rewarded the monk with the gift of miracles.
Using his abilities, David learned to heal diseases. He helped both the wealthy and the poor, making no distinction between people.
The preacher died peacefully, passing away at an advanced age. For his achievements, he was canonized shortly after his death.
