The New Testament describes the Beheading of John in Matthew 14 and Mark 6.
The sacred books say that John the Baptist, who once baptized Jesus Christ and also predicted his descent to Earth, was killed.
According to legend, John was captured and sent to prison by order of the cruel ruler Herod Antipas, who reigned over Galilee at the time.
The reason was that John was not afraid to expose Herod and his sins before the people who followed the saint.
Eventually, as revenge, the ruler and his concubine Herodias ordered their daughter Solome to behead the righteous man.
The girl carried out her parents' orders, after which John the Baptist was killed.

On this day, many people followed certain rules:
- did not refuse anyone help and support;
- don't throw too noisy parties;
- didn't have too much fun.
It was on September 11 that it was considered a grave sin to commit ungodly acts, namely, to use cutting objects. Otherwise, according to beliefs, one could lose one's health.
