Sophia and Irina preached the teachings of the Savior, despite the risk of possible reprisals against them. They possessed the gift of persuasion and won many pagans over to Christianity.

Despite their meek nature, the women were good preachers. Many people followed them and were eventually baptized.

One day, the pagan ruler of Egypt, Claudius, learned about the believers. He ordered the capture of Sophia and Irene, after which he tried to persuade the women to the side of idolatry.

But the believers firmly refused such a proposal. In the end, they were beheaded.
