The list of substances that provoke the development of cancer has expanded.

The list was supplemented following relevant studies by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).

Experts have called talc a probable carcinogen. At the same time, acrylonitrile has been classified as a definite human carcinogen, according to an article in The Lancet Oncology .

Talc is a naturally occurring mineral. It is used in various powders and cosmetics.

Experts have limited evidence to support a link between talc and ovarian cancer.

But at the same time, there is a lot of compelling evidence that talc is carcinogenic to animals and cell cultures.

Acrylonitrile is widely used in the production of polymers for clothing, carpets, plastic products and building materials.

The substance is also found in cigarette smoke and polluted air.

Scientists have confirmed that acrylonitrile is definitely linked to lung cancer and probably bladder cancer.

Earlier, a doctor explained what will happen if you wash yourself with cold water every day.
