"Kissing Disease"
The disease dubbed the "kissing disease" is called mononucleosis. The Epstein-Barr virus that causes it is most often transmitted through saliva.
You can catch an infection if a sick person shares their dishes with you.
The disease begins with a sharp rise in temperature. Moreover, the temperature can jump up to 40 degrees.
Mononucleosis is similar to strep throat because of its similar symptoms, as it is accompanied by a sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, and fever.
It is noted that there are no medications for mononucleosis due to its viral nature. Therefore, experts recommend behaving in the same way as with a cold: drink more warm liquids and stay in bed.
