Coffee has a richer taste and aroma than chicory. However, for lovers of the latter, the taste is reminiscent of espresso.
Pregnant women can drink one large cup of coffee a day, while chicory is contraindicated for pregnant women. This drink can cause uterine contractions, which is dangerous for the fetus.
At the same time, chicory does not contain caffeine, therefore, it is not addictive and does not have the same side effects as coffee. Therefore, people who are contraindicated to caffeine are better off drinking chicory.
It is also not recommended to drink coffee on an empty stomach, as it can cause increased acidity. And chicory contains a natural prebiotic inulin, which increases the amount of beneficial bacteria in the stomach.
