Director of the Federal Scientific and Clinical Center Maria Lagarkova, together with her research group, invented a safe sugar substitute.

It is emphasized that the director of innovations of the company that developed the technology for obtaining the brazzein protein, Rostislav Kovalevsky, also took part in the development.

Scientists emphasized that the new sweetener was obtained “straight from Africa,” as reported by the portal aif.ru.

The researchers explained: “We are talking about a natural protein, a couple of drops of which can satisfy a person’s need for sweets.”

Research results

It is emphasized that Russian scientists were able to recreate a sample of such a protein in the laboratory.

Experts emphasized that the resulting substitute does not harm the human body, since it does not affect the level of insulin in the blood.

Rostislav Kovalevsky noted: “Besides, you will never be able to distinguish the taste of such a substitute from the taste of real sugar.”

Earlier it was reported that doctors in the Moscow region saved a pregnant patient with appendicitis .
