This year, the situation with viral respiratory diseases in the Russian Federation is quite stable.

The targeted recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor specialists do not allow for sharp outbreaks of the disease to occur, as happened at the beginning of last year.

The website obyasnemaem.rf reports that since the beginning of this year, the number of hospitalizations has decreased by almost 50% compared to the last week of 2023.

And before that, the production of new types of vaccines was announced, which are already undergoing clinical trials.

Sputnik Light is already being supplied to medical institutions, and several more types of the vaccine will undergo testing by January 18.

Thus, the beginning of the current year inspires some optimism that new strains of flu and COVID 19 will be finally eliminated by the end of the year.

However, to do this, it is necessary to follow certain rules for transporting patients with influenza, or even suspected of any type of acute respiratory viral infection.

We previously reported that almost 80 million Russians have already been vaccinated against seasonal acute respiratory viral infections .
