Just recently, more than 100 people with botulism were identified in Moscow.

This disease is dangerous and is associated with poisoning caused by the bacterium Clostridium.

These bacteria can be found on products consisting of protein and starch, such as meat, legumes, fish, mushrooms, and vegetables. RIA Novosti reports details with reference to Roskachestvo and the director of the Roskachestvo testing department, Liliya Kotelnikova.

It is noted that the bacteria spreads well in well-sealed jars where oxygen does not enter.

According to Roskachestvo, to reduce the likelihood of botulism infection, it is important to look at the integrity of the packaging, markings and the jar.

They also noted that when receiving a dish from a restaurant or other establishment, you need to look at the sauce. It should be stored in a separate container. Otherwise, the dish will spoil faster.

According to Kotelnikova, the presence of botulism pathogens cannot be detected by taste. To reduce the risk of infection to zero, it is important not to eat products with an expired shelf life, and to refuse products with bulging packaging.

She also advised looking at the markings. If the text is blurry and unclear, it is better to put the product aside.
