Honey is a very useful natural product that many people prefer to use instead of sugar.
However, there are cases when this is definitely not worth doing.
Should I replace sugar with honey?
You can buy different types of honey at the market and in stores: buckwheat, acacia, linden and other types.
Any of them are useful and can serve as an alternative to regular sugar. However, there is one but: you definitely won’t be able to lose weight by adding it to tea instead of sugar.
In terms of caloric content, honey is not much inferior to regular sugar, since it also contains fast carbohydrates.
Moreover, heat treatment of honey is not as safe as consuming the product in its pure form.
Honey contains enzymes that are responsible for its long-term preservation by blocking the harmful effects of fungi and bacteria.
However, when added to tea or baked goods, the enzymes are destroyed, and this process begins at 35 degrees above zero.
That is why it is recommended to consume the product in its pure form.
