TV presenter Elena Malysheva in the program “Live Healthy!” drew attention to the risks of tattoos during magnetic resonance imaging.
Together with cardiologist Herman Gandelman, she spoke about the potential dangers that arise during MRI due to the presence of tattoos.
Doctors on Channel One warned that tattoos can cause burns during the procedure.
Malysheva, in particular, noted that many tattoo dyes contain iron. Under the influence of the magnetic field of the MRI, iron particles begin to move.
Gandelman said the movement could cause a burning sensation.
In some cases, as the presenters noted, one may encounter injury to skin particles and burns.
Malysheva emphasized that such reactions make the MRI procedure more risky for people with tattoos.
Before undergoing an MRI, you should inform your doctor about the presence of tattoos to avoid unpleasant consequences.
