The skin is the largest organ of our body, and its main function is protection.

But the skin is also a reflection of our internal state, and nutrition has a significant impact on it.

Products can affect the condition of the skin both positively and negatively.

Let's, together with dermatologist Nailya Shigapova, outline a list of products that can affect the condition of our skin.

Negative effects on the skin:

1. Excessive consumption of sugar and trans fats causes inflammation and can trigger acne, so you need to be careful with sweets, especially store-bought ones, as well as various types of baked goods.

2. Coffee. The first product to exclude when starting acne treatment. Excessive caffeine consumption can lead to dehydration. For the same reason, to have beautiful skin and get rid of acne, you need to completely give up energy drinks!

3. Alcohol. Just like caffeine, it causes dehydration and also dilates blood vessels, which can cause irritation and redness. For people with rosacea and couperose, alcohol consumption is contraindicated because it provokes an exacerbation of the disease.

4. Dairy products. Contraindicated in acne treatment, as casein, which is part of the composition, forms mucus in the small intestine, which prevents the absorption of drugs and which itself provokes the appearance of inflammatory elements. Acne is also provoked by the presence of hormones in dairy products.

5. Carbonated drinks. Due to the high content of sugar and fructose, it has a negative effect on the liver, which is fraught with fatty hepatosis, and this, in turn, is reflected in the quality of the skin.

Positive effects on the skin:

1. Vegetables and fruits are the basis of beautiful and healthy skin. They are rich in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants and help maintain the skin's radiance.

2. Greens. Especially spinach and celery, because they are rich in vitamins, antioxidants and fight inflammation.

3. Berries: raspberries, blueberries, currants, strawberries are rich in vitamin C and anthocyanins, which increase skin elasticity and fight free radicals.

4. Seeds, nuts, avocados are rich in healthy fats, vitamins and minerals.

5. Flax seeds in any form improve texture and help improve skin condition.

6. Fish, especially fatty fish, is an excellent source of Omega-3 to maintain the integrity of cell membranes and reduce inflammation.

7. Cereals contain fiber and vitamins to improve digestion and remove toxins, which, of course, also affects the skin.

The health and beauty of our skin largely depends on what we eat. Remember that the skin is unique and you need to find a balance in nutrition and care and, of course, do not forget to drink enough water.
