How to get rid of blackheads on face

Blackheads or comedones are a problem that can bother people at any age.

Most often they are located in the T-zone of the face, this is the forehead, nose and chin.

However, in adolescence they can spread all over the face. They represent a blockage of the sebaceous hair follicle. The sebaceous gland produces sebum.

It comes out to the surface of the skin through the ducts of the sebaceous hair follicle and darkens when interacting with oxygen, acquiring a black color. There are factors that provoke the formation of blackheads, says cosmetologist Liliya Khusnullina .

Washing with soap, using products that dry out the skin (harsh scrubs, alcohol lotions), and frequently squeezing out blackheads leads to a disruption of the skin's protective layer and its pH.

Trying to restore the protective layer, the skin will increase the production of sebum. And the number of comedones will increase.

It is not advisable to use oils, thick creams, or massage the skin too much, as this will accelerate the blockage of the sebaceous-hair duct and worsen the skin condition. Daily hygienic skin care will help improve the skin condition and get rid of comedones.

Basic care includes 3 stages: cleansing, toning, applying a care cream. It is best if home care is selected by a specialist, taking into account age, skin type, and prevalence of the problem.

Cleansing: give preference to products without abrasive particles, soft gels or foams without oils.

The next step is toning. A moisturizing toner for normal skin, or one containing a comedolytic, such as salicylic, lactic, or glycolic acid for oily skin.

The third step is applying cream: moisturizing in the morning, but in the evening it is better to use a cream with acids.

Creams with azelaic, salicylic, and glycolic acid are comedolytics, i.e. they will dissolve blackheads and prevent the formation of new ones.

The effect of them occurs after 3-6 months from the beginning of use. If there are a lot of blackheads and they are all over the face, then it is better to use creams with retinol at night. For deep cleansing, be sure to use a scrub, enzyme peeling, or enzyme powder, cleansing masks once a week.

Large blackheads protruding above the skin level must be removed with the help of professional cosmetic cleaning.

A cosmetologist can prescribe a course of procedures to remove existing spots and prevent the appearance of new ones. These procedures are: mechanical cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning, vacuum cleaning, a course of chemical peels.

In severe cases, when blackheads are located all over the face, become inflamed, and acne forms, the cosmetologist prescribes Retinoids in tablets, in addition to the procedures.

With regular proper skin care, the problem will stop bothering you in just a couple of months, and your skin will look healthy, well-groomed and clean! Don't be lazy, be patient and you will definitely achieve the desired result!
