Eliminating unhealthy foods from your diet does not always help normalize blood sugar levels.
The reason for this may be pathological processes occurring in the body.
Gastroenterologist and hepatologist Sergei Vyalov issued this warning on his Telegram channel.
According to the expert, the pancreas plays two important roles in the body:
- secretion of enzymes;
- insulin synthesis.
Therefore, if any pathological processes occur in the pancreas that affect its functioning, problems may arise in the hormonal or enzymatic sense.
And if we are talking about hormonal imbalances, then the sugar level may increase accordingly.
In both cases, the body may not be well, and alcohol and smoking play a significant role in this case.
Excess weight also harms the pancreas. Vyalov reminded that people with excess weight are always included in the risk group for pancreatic cancer.
