A doctor revealed to Russians a simple way to lose weight while cooking familiar dishes.
In her Telegram channel, endocrinologist Zukhra Pavlova said that the secret lies in the way food is prepared.
The endocrinologist emphasized that in order to maintain a figure, the body needs to get rid of calories, not store them.
This is facilitated by cooking food al dente: this is the stage of cooking pasta or rice in Italian cuisine, when the food seems hard to the taste when you bite into it.
She compared foods prepared this way to walking with a heavy backpack on her back. Both make the body burn more calories.
This is explained simply: the body will need more effort to digest undigested and almost cooked food than to digest fully cooked dishes.
Calories are also expended when chewing food, which is why it is useful for people who are losing weight to eat food chopped into large pieces.
