Often, life circumstances fall upon us, due to which we can fall into despondency for a long time.
Many people mistakenly call this condition depression.
In fact, there is a significant difference between the blues and depression, and if you understand these two concepts, it will become obvious to you too.
The blues is a state of sadness and despondency that can be caused by certain events in life or simply by the change of seasons.
For example, the most well-known is the autumn blues, which comes with the arrival of autumn along with the realization that warm days will soon be replaced by cold winter.
However, this condition cannot last forever and is often observed for only a couple of weeks.
As for depression, it is a much more severe condition that can last for months.
Unlike the blues, depression is accompanied by much more serious symptoms, including sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, apathy, lack of appetite, etc.
It is almost impossible to cope with depression on your own, and therefore, if you have the symptoms listed above, you should consult a specialist.
