The cardiologist explained that upon awakening, the brain must go through 4 stages - from theta and delta waves to alpha and beta waves.
And when we pick up our phone immediately after waking up, the brain skips the alpha wave stage, immediately plunging into beta waves, which are characteristic of wakefulness.
This puts unnecessary stress on the brain, which can later lead to anxiety and much more serious consequences.
The cardiologist advised to give up your smartphone for the first half hour after waking up and, for the same reason, not to touch the gadget for half an hour before you go to bed.
