Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences Pavel Morozik announced that Belarusian scientists are planning to create “longevity kefir.”
It is emphasized that the drink will contain microorganisms that can prolong a person’s life.
Morozik added: “We are talking about a collection of DNA that Belarusian experts managed to collect from people who lived to be 90 years old,” as reported by ctv.by.
It is reported that the extracted microbiomes of long-livers contain the bacterium Akkermansia, which affects the life expectancy of a person.
Extensive plans
The Deputy Director of the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences stated: “In collaboration with our colleagues from the meat and dairy industry, we plan to create a longevity kefir.”
According to Morozik, the composition of the said drink will include the bacterium Akkermansia.
It is explained that the relevant innovations are being implemented directly with the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences and with the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation.
