A narcologist has issued a warning to Russians who will soon be facing long New Year holidays.
To avoid suffering from a hangover the day after New Year's Eve, the expert advised drinking water.
Psychiatrist and narcologist Maria Kasperovich spoke with NEWS.ru and gave other advice regarding the upcoming holiday.
The first piece of advice the expert gave people about the upcoming holiday was to drink more water.
Alcoholic drinks cause dehydration, which is why it is important to drink plain water, and after a party before bed you should also drink a glass.
If you don’t want to drink water, the narcologist noted that a good alternative would be herbal tea without sugar.
The second piece of advice is not to mix alcohol, especially when it comes to low-alcohol and strong alcoholic drinks.
The third piece of advice Kasperovich gave to Russians is not to snack on heavy, fatty foods while drinking alcohol, as this puts more strain on the liver. It is better to choose light snacks for this.
