Acne can become a serious problem, especially if you eat several foods that trigger it.
These include foods that many people eat every day.
With this warning, the cosmetologist of the medical center "SM-Cosmetology" Anastasia Kostenko spoke to " Lenta.ru ".
According to the expert, there are three groups of products that aggravate acne.
These include:
- cow's milk;
- trans fats;
- foods with a high glycemic index.
In the first case, consumption of cow's milk leads to an increase in the production of insulin-like growth factor-1, which affects the sebaceous gland, causing clogged pores and increased inflammation.
Trans fats, as well as foods containing saturated fatty acids, lead to the activation of cell division and the production of more sebum than necessary.
Foods with a high glycemic index, such as white bread, white rice, baked goods, etc., lead to increased blood sugar and increased insulin production.
And this, in turn, as in the first case, leads to clogged pores and worsening acne.
