When caring for indoor plants, it is important to choose the right water for irrigation.
After all, poor quality water can be destructive to flowers.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained what you shouldn’t water indoor plants with.
What water is not suitable
You cannot use tap water to water flowers.
After all, it may contain various microelements that are harmful to plants.
So, chlorine has a bad effect on the root system. As a result, the plant will weaken and begin to wither.
Tap water may also contain calcium and magnesium. These substances interfere with the growth and development of flowers.
Such water also contains salts, which can accumulate in the soil.
It is also necessary to take into account the temperature of the water used to water the flowers.
It should not be too hot or, conversely, too cold.
Such water may cause harm to plant leaves or roots.
Therefore, it is advisable to water the flowers with water at room temperature.
Other mistakes when watering
When watering some plants, you need to make sure that water does not get on the leaves.
Otherwise, it may lead to the development of various diseases.
It is also important to choose the right watering method. For example, bulbous plants require the top method. But violets and cacti need watering from below.
