Why gardeners pick off round buds on currants: what's the trick

Have you ever seen strange round buds on currant branches? At first glance, there is nothing special about these growths.

But in reality, ticks live inside them, which feed on the juices of the currants and prevent them from bearing fruit.

Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh said that the mites that inhabit currants are incredibly prolific.

For this reason, it is worth getting rid of these arachnid parasites in a timely manner.

Take note

To stop mites from harming your currants, simply pick off the buds they have settled inside.

If there are 3 to 5 such buds on one branch, it makes sense to destroy the shoot entirely, since, most likely, it will no longer be able to function normally.

It is much easier to get rid of ticks if you treat the currants in advance using acaricidal preparations.

The appropriate treatment should be carried out during the period of tick dispersal, when the parasite is most active.
