Root suckers may appear if the plant's roots are exposed.
This may happen due to soil erosion or, for example, they may be dug up by animals.
It may also be associated with various mechanical damage to the roots.
The appearance of shoots may be caused by excessive pruning of branches.
The cause may also be damage to the bark, various diseases and pests.
How to solve the problem
The problem of the appearance of shoots must be solved depending on the reasons.
So, if it is related to the roots, then in the spring they should be covered with soil and try not to damage them. Instead of digging, the soil can be carefully loosened and mulched.
In the case of radical pruning, the situation cannot be quickly corrected. It will be necessary to wait until the tree grows a crown.
When frost cracks appear, it is important to heal them in a timely manner. This should be done in early spring.
In addition, it is worth examining the trees. They can be "attacked" by various pests and diseases that need to be fought.
Also, the shoots that have already appeared must be removed immediately. They must be cut off at the very base.
