Often, summer residents notice a white coating on cucumbers.

White coating on cucumbers

If you notice a white coating on your cucumbers, the causes may be the following three diseases:

  • powdery mildew;
  • white rot;
  • false powdery mildew.

A white coating on the leaves and fruits of cucumbers may indicate that the plant is affected by powdery mildew. It usually affects cucumbers growing in open ground, but it can also occur on greenhouse plants.

If cucumbers are affected by white rot, the following signs indicate this:
infected fruits look like moldy ones;
the white coating looks like flakes and affects the above-ground parts of the bush;
Without treatment, the lesions darken and harden.

When cucumbers are affected by downy mildew, a grayish coating appears on the underside of the leaf, and light yellow spots appear on its surface.
