You can increase the strawberry yield not only by adding fertilizers.
The desired result is achieved by correctly “neighboring” strawberries with other crops.
There is a list of plants that can be planted either in a bed next to the strawberries or right between the rows.
An expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, spoke about them in more detail.
One of the most popular options is onion. Its smell repels many garden pests.
Another option is legumes. They improve the soil near strawberries. Therefore, you can safely plant beans or peas nearby.
Lavender, marigolds, nasturtium, and basil can be excellent “neighbors” for strawberries.
But mint is a bad option. The plant spreads aggressively across the site and can interfere with the development of strawberries.
Previously we talked about how to increase strawberry yields using iodine.
