What Michurin warned about, but summer residents forgot about it: the answer to why there is no harvest in the gardens, although everything is blooming

Many summer residents face the problem when trees bloom profusely, but do not produce a harvest.

Let's figure out what could be the reason for the lack of fruit.

Expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, scientist agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh will tell you what Michurin warned summer residents and gardeners about earlier.

Reasons for the lack of harvest

Most often, the problem is self-pollination. The nature of plants is that if they pollinate themselves, there is nowhere for the fruit to come from.

Michurin, having conducted a series of experiments, established the dependence of the abundance of the harvest on the proximity of some types of fruit trees to others. In particular, the scientist found out that apple trees next to pears gave a more abundant harvest than mono-plantings.

The reason is that fruit trees pollinate each other and thus stimulate the growth of fruits.

Moreover, it is not even about the quantity of the harvest, but also about the quality. Experiments have shown that the fruits of pear, apple, cherry, plum and other trees with cross-pollination are larger and richer in useful substances.

Earlier we wrote about what needs to be placed under a cherry tree if it bears fruit very poorly.
