In January, buy hybrid verbena seeds. Don't forget to buy growth stimulants for them.
This plant can be moved into open ground by mid-May.
You can also plant garden carnations in winter – they usually bloom only six months after sowing.
An excellent choice for winter sowing would be the seeds of hybrid delphinium and gaillardia aristata, which also take a long time to “wake up” after planting.
