Growing peonies in open ground is a troublesome business, but August is a particularly important period.

It is necessary not only to trim, but also to feed the bush. Why? So that in spring the huge caps will decorate the area again.

If you do not add fertilizer, then the flowering may occur, but not as bright. After all, where does the plant get the resources for flowering? Therefore, gardeners always feed peonies at the end of summer.

Young and old bushes are fertilized with mullein infusion diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10.

In addition, phosphorus and potassium compounds are added under the root. For example, 20–30 g of superphosphate and 10–15 g of potassium sulfate per 10 liters of water.

For greater effectiveness, it is recommended to add a micronutrient tablet to the solution.

Note

Peonies cannot stand acidic soil. They will not bloom in this case. If before planting it turns out that the soil is acidic, then it is worth adding 2 cups of lime or dolomite flour.
