Thuja is extremely versatile in landscape design, which is why it has confidently made it into the top 5 most popular plants.

Juniper is not far behind. This shrub is also in demand among owners of country houses.

But there is a problem. Conifers can suddenly change color from emerald green to red. A very alarming sign for an evergreen plant.

We will have to save the plantings, otherwise we should be prepared for the fact that dry sticks will remain in their place.

If the thuja or juniper has started to turn red or dry out, then you should perform a few simple steps.

And you need to start with pruning. First, remove dry branches with pruning shears. The next step is shortening the top. About 10-15 cm. This will have a beneficial effect on the plant.

Coniferous plants love acidic soil. Acidic peat will help bring the soil to the required pH level (3–4).

Along with peat, add fertilizer for coniferous plants. It is used according to the instructions.

Then you need to wait. If there is no result, spray the plants with a solution of "Epin". After 10 days, treat with "Zircon" and add mullein after another 14 days.

After such therapy, all conifers come back to life, if, of course, they were still in a more or less normal condition.

Note

The root system of the thuja is located quite close to the surface. When adding peat, the soil is loosened, but this is done extremely carefully so as not to touch the roots. Loosen no deeper than 10 cm.

When the thuja or juniper comes to life, the soil can be mulched with sawdust, bark, wood chips. The layer is about 5-7 cm.
