For some plants, watering with plain water may not be enough for quality development and growth.
In this case, you can use a simple fertilizer, thanks to which indoor plants will bloom well.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about this in more detail.
What to add to water
You can improve the condition of plants using citric acid.
In 5 liters of water you need to dilute half a teaspoon of citric acid.
Afterwards, you need to let the water settle for some time. You can water the plants with this solution once a week.
In addition, you can water the plants with water containing orange and lemon peels.
The peels of these fruits should be soaked in warm water for a day. Then they should be thrown away, and the flowers should be watered with the infusion.
What else to feed plants with
During the winter period, you can feed your houseplants using wood ash.
This natural fertilizer acts as a source of nutrients, including phosphorus and potassium.
Add a small handful of ash to a liter of water and let it sit for about a week.
The resulting infusion should be used to water the plants no more than twice a month.
You can also feed indoor flowers with water from washed cereals.
Any cereal, such as rice, pearl barley or buckwheat, should be soaked in water and left to stand for several hours.
Afterwards, you need to remove the cereal and water the flowers with the remaining water.
This infusion contains many natural nutrients that will benefit the plants.
