Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained when and how best to treat plums.

Time for processing

It is advisable to carry out the first treatment in early spring.

This must be done before the sap flow process begins.

Do not forget about repeated treatments. They may be required during flowering, as well as during the period when fruits are formed.

It is also important to treat the trees after harvesting.

How to process

Special chemicals can be used to treat plum trees. For example, these can be preparations with malathion or chlorophos.

Some folk remedies are no less effective. A decoction of wormwood will cope well with pests on trees.

500 grams of this plant should be added to five liters of water. It should be infused for about a day, and then the trees should be treated.

You can also make a soap solution. To prepare it, you will need 20 grams of shavings of laundry soap.

Mix it with 5 liters of water and stir thoroughly.

For greater efficiency, you can add 15 grams of kerosene to the solution.
