To get a good tomato harvest, it is not enough to simply care for the plants in the garden, it is also important to plant them correctly.

This point is not always taken into account by gardeners, and the result can be disappointing.

Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained whether it is necessary to change the planting location of tomatoes.

Why it is better to change the place

Plantings can become sick, grow poorly and produce little fruit. All this can be avoided if you follow the rules of crop rotation.

If you grow the same vegetable or berry in the same place every year, then after a while the elements it needs will run out.

As a result, the soil will become depleted. This will affect the condition of the plants and the harvest.

Therefore, it is necessary to alternate plantings.

What to plant after tomatoes

Tomatoes are considered to be quite demanding in terms of growing conditions.

During the process of development and growth, they take a large amount of nitrogen and potassium from the soil substrate, and a smaller amount of phosphorus.

After tomatoes, you can plant onion and legume crops. This place is suitable for planting cabbage or greens.

At the same time, it is absolutely forbidden to plant tomatoes again in the place where they grew.

Otherwise, you can forget about a good harvest. You also can't plant eggplants or potatoes.
