Russian agriculture will receive a flying “assistant”.
The first drone for performing agricultural tasks has been certified in the Russian Federation.
Rosaviatsia has issued a certificate for a device weighing over 30 kg, the agency’s website reports.
We are talking about the S-80 model. This is the first serial model of a multi-rotor unmanned aerial system (UAS) in Russia, which received a certificate allowing it to perform commercial work.
This drone can be used for precise application of fertilizers and plant protection products against pests and diseases.
The S-80 has a payload of 40 kg and can process up to 18 hectares in an hour.
It is noted that agriculture will not be the only commercial area for the use of drones.
The S-80's strengths will also be tested in other business areas, such as short- and medium-distance delivery.
The model received certification in less than a year.
