Spring is the time to prepare the soil for planting.
The same applies to a greenhouse, where the soil needs to be “revived” before plants are planted in it.
Together with the expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, scientist agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , we will figure out what needs to be done for this.
Soil cultivation in a greenhouse
Spring treatment of greenhouse soil includes three mandatory steps:
- hot strait,
- introduction of beneficial microorganisms,
- introduction of necessary nutritional supplements.
Hot watering means watering the beds with water that has a temperature of 70-80 degrees above zero. This will help wake up beneficial microorganisms that are dormant after winter.
Then you need to add either special preparations or regular compost to the soil.
The third step is also important, since spring soil cultivation is fundamentally different from autumn. At the beginning of the season, the soil requires the introduction of humates, sapropel and diatomite.
