How to choose the right place
It is advisable to plant strawberries where they will receive enough light and will be protected from strong winds.
Also, water should not remain in this place for a long time after rain.
Avoid planting berries in soil that is too sandy or contains a lot of clay.
The best option would be light soil rich in various useful substances.
After which it is better to plant
Some plants can do a great job of "preparing" the soil for planting strawberries.
Thus, the berries will feel great in places where daffodils, hyacinths or tulips previously grew.
Planting strawberries in beds where there were radishes or horseradish will have a positive effect on the yield of strawberries.
At the same time, the soil after these plants can be slightly enriched with nitrogen.
Carrots or beets can also “prepare” the soil for strawberries.
Where you can't plant
It is advisable not to plant strawberries in places where some fruit and berry plants previously grew.
For example, it is better not to plant berries near pear and apple trees.
It is not recommended to plant strawberries after raspberries and blackberries.
Some summer residents, when planting strawberries, avoid places where roses or chrysanthemums previously grew.
