The last month of summer is considered a very important moment for summer residents.
August is the active period of ripening of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants. Therefore, it is too early to relax. It is high time to apply fertilizer, which will lead to an increase in the harvest.
Expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to feed peppers and tomatoes in August.
First of all, it is potassium sulfate (20 g per ten liters of water). The application rate is one liter per bush.
You can also use superphosphate. Dissolve 20 g in hot water, then bring the volume to 10 liters.
A more accessible option is prepared from ash (1 cup) and citric acid (1 tsp). Also diluted in 10 liters of water and watered under the root.
Good to know
If the beds have light sandy loam soils, then watering and fertilizing are done more often. On “heavier” and denser soils, this is done less often.
Potassium sulfate or superphosphate should not be used if the soil is acidic. It is better to use ash without citric acid. If the pH level is 7 or more, then ash is not recommended.
