A deadly neighbourhood
The number one enemy of zucchini is potatoes. This is because both plants can be attacked by the same pests.
And the plants themselves are much stronger than zucchini. And the one that is stronger successfully takes all the nutrients necessary for growth from the other.
You shouldn't plant zucchini next to cucumbers either. As they grow, the latter will constantly keep the zucchini in the shade.
Another competitor of zucchini is pumpkin crops. They will fight with each other for nutrients, therefore, some plants will not receive the nutrition they need.
Also, you shouldn't plant garlic and onions next to each other.
