Marigolds are beautiful flowers that are a welcome guest in any area.
They are not only beautiful, but also useful for many garden plants.
However, the expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, scientist agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh wants to warn you that some plants should never be planted next to them.
Who will be harmed by the proximity of marigolds?
Marigolds secrete special chemicals that provide protection to the flowers by repelling pests. However, these same substances can be destructive to a number of other plants.
Therefore, it is strictly not recommended to plant the following next to marigolds:
- peas;
- radish;
- turnip;
- radish;
- cabbage.
Marigolds have the most negative impact on these five vegetable crops. When growing next to the above-mentioned plants, the flowers themselves will act as pests, inhibiting and hindering their growth.
