Potatoes are one of the most favorite agricultural crops among Russians.
At the same time, like other plants, it needs watering.
However, this is not always true, especially if all the conditions for growing potatoes are created.
Let's figure out under what conditions the crop does not need watering.
If potatoes are grown in loamy soil in a temperate region, they may not need watering.
In such cases, water is replaced by two methods of plant care: hilling and loosening.
The thing is that loosening is called a dry watering method. If the potato cultivation region itself has a high humidity level, then hilling is enough for successful potato cultivation.
But on sandy soils you can’t do without watering.
The following symptoms indicate the need for watering:
- drooping shoots;
- twisted leaves;
- soil, dry at a depth of 5-6 cm.
It is best to water potatoes in the evening, pouring at least 3 liters under each bush.
