A stump on your property can be a real headache.
However, it can be easily gotten rid of even without the use of special equipment.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained how to remove a stump without digging it up.
To do this, you will need any device that can make a hole, as well as ammonium nitrate.
But it is important to take into account that this method of stump removal is not the fastest. It can take up to six months.
It is also desirable that there are no trees or bushes within about two meters of the stump. Otherwise, the saltpeter may harm them.
How to remove a tree stump
You need to take a drill about 150 mm long. On the cut of the stump you need to drill a couple of holes at a distance of eight or ten centimeters.
It is necessary to drill to the length of the drill. If the stump is high enough, then the holes can be made on the side.
Then we pour saltpeter into the holes and compact it thoroughly.
Then you have to wait for the remedy to start working. This, as noted earlier, can take about six months or even more.
After prolonged exposure to this substance, the wood will become less strong and the stump can simply be broken.
Earlier we explained why you need to hammer nails into apple trees.
