Selecting a location
It is important to choose a sunny and open area for the compost pit. The pit should also be in a convenient and accessible place so that you can easily refill it with waste.
Preparing the site
Before creating the hole, it is important to remove excess debris. Then, dig the hole and put a layer of gravel or other drainage in it.
Next, it is important to add a layer of dry materials: leaves, sawdust or straw.
The last layer is associated with green materials, such as vegetable and fruit scraps. This will speed up the decomposition of the compost.
Turning the compost
Don't forget to turn the compost over and regularly add new portions to the pit.
