How to Grow Delicious Tomatoes: Proven Tips for True Tomato Lovers

When you start growing tomatoes, start with an area that gets full sun all day.

Plant as many varieties as you have space for.

Agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about this.

Loamy and slightly acidic soil is best for tomatoes. If the soil is thick and clayey, plant tomatoes in raised beds.

Replant tomatoes annually, and never plant them in the same place twice.

Three years before planting, prepare the soil with eggshells.

Dig a hole a little deeper than you need for the plant and put a tablespoon of fertilizer at the bottom and a layer of soil on top.

Place the plant in the hole so that the tomato stem is partially covered with soil.

Water tomatoes as needed.

Once the tomatoes grow to about the size of your index finger and thumb, fertilize them generously.

Mulch tomatoes around the base of the plant with peat moss or other materials.

Never wait until tomatoes are bright red. Pick the fruit from the bush when they are orange-yellow and bring them indoors to ripen.

This way you won't have to worry about birds pecking holes in your tomatoes.
