Horseradish is a useful plant and is used in cooking.
However, it can quickly grow, turning into a malicious weed.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh suggested how to get rid of horseradish in the garden.
We dig up the plant
Horseradish can be dug up. But it must be done correctly.
First, remove the leaves, leaving only the cuttings. It is better to dig this plant with a pitchfork, not a shovel.
You need to dig around the area at a distance of about a meter around the horseradish.
The bed must be dug to a depth of about 30 or even 40 centimeters.
We loosen the soil and insert the pitchfork under the plant. Then we need to carefully lift it.
This must be done carefully and care must be taken to ensure that the roots do not come off.
We use salt
Salt can be an effective aid in the fight against overgrown horseradish.
Some gardeners simply cover the plant completely with salt.
But you can also use another method. Make a hole around the root and cut off a small piece from it.
Pour a mound of salt onto the cut site, cover with a plastic bag and fill with soil.
