The future fate of the entire strawberry harvest depends on the first feeding.

In the early growth phase, nitrogen plays a key role for plants.

Before flowering, strawberries should be fed with ammonium nitrate or urea, says the expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

You can use either option. Both products are good at the start of the season.

Ammonium nitrate can be diluted in water (1 tbsp. per 10 l) or granules can be scattered over the soil surface and then incorporated into the ground (up to 30 g per 1 sq. m).

As for urea, it's a similar story. Either a tablespoon per bucket of water, or up to 20 g of granules per "square" of the garden bed.

If the product is applied in liquid form, the norm is no more than 500 ml for each adult plant.
