Many summer residents and gardeners wonder how many years in a row they can plant garlic in the same place.
After all, if you do this too often, you can lose the harvest altogether.
Together with the expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, we will understand the intricacies of growing garlic.
How to Plant Garlic
First of all, you need to figure out which plants are best to plant after. Cucumbers are ideal as predecessors.
Garlic also does not grow well in shady areas, so it is better to plant it away from trees.
In addition to light, the plant also loves water. And the harvest will directly depend on its quality, so never water garlic with water with a high salt content.
When you harvest the garlic from the garden bed, do not rush to move it to another place. It can be planted here once more.
However, it is not recommended to plant garlic in the same place more than twice, as the soil may become infected with stem nematode.
Earlier we wrote that they plant in the garden bed after winter garlic.
